TRG helped a leading NGO revive global attention on a protracted Middle Eastern conflict through strategic advocacy, diplomacy, and media. The campaign helped reengage policymakers, expand humanitarian access, and support momentum toward peace.
The Challenge:
A protracted war in the heart of the Middle East had dragged on for over a decade, displacing more than 12 million people (about twice the population of Arizona) and destabilizing the broader region. Once a central focus of global diplomacy, the crisis gradually slipped from headlines and policy agendas as fatigue took hold among Western governments, international bodies, and key allies.
Yet advocates for refugees, civil society, and opposition groups continued to face ongoing, deeply entrenched challenges. The drawn-out violence was still fueling extremism, deepening instability, inviting foreign intervention, and inflicting immense human suffering. Reclaiming global attention, reactivating institutional responses, and driving meaningful policy action were no longer optional—they were urgent and essential. Lives depended on it.

Our Role:
To restore international focus, The Rendon Group (TRG) supported a leading international NGO to design and implement a comprehensive transnational strategy aimed at influencing both national governments and multilateral institutions. Central to this effort was cultivating key relationships and delivering tailored messaging to non-permanent members of the UN Security Council, urging stronger policy responses to the conflict’s humanitarian and security dimensions. The campaign also advocated for targeted sanctions against those responsible for atrocities and obstruction of aid.
To amplify impact, TRG prepared the client for high-level engagements, secured commentary placements in strategic media markets, and reframed the crisis in both moral and geopolitical terms. Special emphasis was placed on systemic corruption, the prolonged failure of diplomatic negotiations, and—most importantly—on reminding the world that behind every policy decision and headline were the lives of real people. We ensured the story remained grounded in human experience, so the cost of inaction could not be ignored.
The Outcome:
TRG’s efforts helped reenergize the advocacy campaign. Through targeted lobbying, diplomatic engagement, and media amplification, the client revived pressure on policymakers across a broad spectrum of governments. Sanctions proposals gained traction, and humanitarian access and accountability reemerged on the global agenda.
The campaign elevated the voices of displaced communities and helped mature the client’s credibility as a key player in international policy debates. As momentum built, global attention began to shift—with renewed focus on war crimes, expanded humanitarian corridors, and a deeper recognition of the long-term need for peace.
While many actors contributed to ending the conflict—and no single effort can claim credit—the crisis did end. Millions of lives are now on the path to recovery. TRG is proud to have been part of a coalition that helped make the dream of Freedom a reality.
